Air Cooled VW Love Forums

I was traveling down the Interstate and my 74 Bus started chugging and acting like it was sick. I pulled off and started looking around at the engine. I had my suspiscions because of a previous problem and I removed the valve cover from the right side. The head was messed up because the rocker arm on one of the cylinders wouldnt stay on right. I removed the rod and rocker assembly from that cylinder and put everything back together.

Can you believe that I drove that poor thing for nearly 300 miles on 3 cylinders? True story.

I can believe it! But I bet that cylinder wasnt in the best shape once you got to where you were going.

Cylinder are very risky so be careful from the same and take extra precaution for that.
