Another question from our blog:

I am looking at 74 vw thing….looks good, told it runs well. I am a VW novice. Any hints or advice when I take a look at it? any issues or potential pitfalls?

I would like to use it year round and would need to either reconnect or ad a gas-heater. Is the thing ok in the winters? i live in the Southcoast of New England (Providence-cape Cod area) or would I have to winter it? Any help wouldbe greatly appreciate it

I have a really bad problem with my fuel system. When I first start up it works fine but after the engine has warmed up really good it starts missing (spitting and sputtering) and then it dies. When it does this it acts like the fuel pump is out or the line is clogged up. But after it cools down a little bit it will start right up.

I replaced the fuel pump but nothing has changed!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
