I was Trying to time a VW bus motor Im not sure what size I was told it was an 1800 it’s on a sandrail. The distributor poped out. how do I align the distributor with the cam. It is in two pieces the middle conection can only go one way but the other end has 13 teeth. Any ideas?]]>

I am looking at 74 vw thing….looks good, told it runs well. I am a VW novice. Any hints or advice when I take a look at it? any issues or potential pitfalls?

I would like to use it year round and would need to either reconnect or ad a gas-heater. Is the thing ok in the winters? i live in the Southcoast of New England (Providence-cape Cod area) or would I have to winter it? Any help wouldbe greatly appreciate it]]>

I have a 72 super and it will idle fine for a few minutes then it sputters and eventually dies.
if i keep my foot barely on the gas pedal it stays running.
i’m at a loss as to what the problem is.
i think 72 was a bad year for VW. lol
