72 Super Beetle doesnt idle right

Another question from a visitor:

I have a 72 super and it will idle fine for a few minutes then it sputters and eventually dies.
if i keep my foot barely on the gas pedal it stays running.
i’m at a loss as to what the problem is.
i think 72 was a bad year for VW. lol
let me know if you guys figure something out.

Make sure the idle cut off valve wire is attached securely.If it's loose it can cause the engine to quit running like it's not getting gas.
